Generative Engine Optimization · for tourism businesses

From ranking to being cited.

Travellers also use AI assistants to explore where to stay, eat and visit. GEO helps you understand how your business appears in those answers, then improve the content and information that can support accurate mentions, recommendations and citations.

A managed, 12-month programme across your digital footprint: your website, business profiles, listings and relevant third-party sources. We lead the agreed work, coordinate with your developer where needed and give you a clear monthly account of progress.

The idea

What is GEO, and how does AI decide who to cite?

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) is the work of improving how your business is represented in AI-generated answers. Different systems may draw on your website, business profiles, directories, review platforms and third-party coverage. We work on both your own content and that wider information ecosystem, then measure how the answers change.

Not just your website

GEO touches your whole digital ecosystem

The information used in AI answers can come from several places. We review the relevant sources together, identify gaps and contradictions, and prioritise improvements across the ecosystem.

Website & structured data

Clear, useful content and appropriate structured data describing your business, services and events. A foundation for accessible, understandable information.

Google Business Profile & Maps

Accurate categories, services, attributes, photos and opening hours. Keep the information travellers encounter in Google Search and Maps up to date.

Directories & listings

Accurate names, addresses, contact details and descriptions across relevant directories. Resolve conflicting information about your business.

Wikidata & Wikipedia

Review relevant existing entries and factual consistency. Any contribution must meet the platform’s eligibility, sourcing and editorial rules.

Review & booking platforms

Check how your business is described on relevant review and booking platforms, and address information gaps or recurring customer concerns.

Press & third-party mentions

Understand how independent sources describe your business and where relevant coverage could support a clearer, better-evidenced picture.

One connected programme: useful website content, accurate business information and a consistent presence across relevant sources.

Agreed before we start

The proposal defines the measurement panel, review schedule and delivery capacity. Advisory, writing and technical development are scoped together; additional work is agreed separately. Your team can see what is included and who is responsible.

The website piece

Your site is one part — here's how we handle it

We coordinate the agreed programme across your digital presence. For website changes, we can work with your existing developer or scope a new build where the current foundation needs replacing.

Version A — your existing website

We improve your current site and coordinate agreed changes with your developer.

Faster and lighter to start.

Version B — a new website

We design and build a new site with structure, schema, speed and crawlability baked in.

A new foundation when the audit supports it.

Pricing is confirmed per proposal after the Phase 0 audit (scope and technology dependent).
FAQ

Common questions

What is GEO?
GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) combines measurement of AI-generated answers with improvements across your digital presence: website content, business profiles, relevant listings and third-party information. The aim is clearer representation and stronger opportunities for discovery and citation.
Is GEO the same as SEO?
They overlap. SEO supports discovery in search; GEO also examines how AI-generated answers represent your business. Useful content, technical accessibility and accurate information across relevant sources matter to both.
Do I need a new website?
Not necessarily. We can improve your existing site or build a new one if the audit shows that replacement is needed.
Do you guarantee a ranking in ChatGPT?
No. AI engines change constantly, so no one can guarantee a fixed placement. The retainer measures visibility, prioritises improvements and evaluates changes over time.
Is this the same as the Google Business Profile Program?
No — it is a separate, standalone engagement. Many businesses do both: the profile program for Google Maps, GEO for AI engines.
