Glossary

AI visibility, GEO & search terms — in plain language.

Clear definitions of the terms behind getting found on Google and AI.

AI visibility

How often, how accurately and how favourably an AI assistant names and recommends a destination or business when travellers ask it for suggestions.

Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

Measurement of AI-generated answers and work on the content and wider online information that may support accurate representation, discovery and citation.

Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)

The practice of making information clear and useful for systems that provide direct answers. It includes answering relevant questions, organising content clearly and keeping facts consistent. AEO overlaps with SEO and GEO; it does not guarantee an AI recommendation or citation.

AI Visibility Score

A relative 0–100 benchmark. The pilot score combines exposure, recommendation rank and sentiment; source quality, themes and geographic spread are examined separately to explain the findings.

Zero-click search

When a person gets their answer directly on the results page or from an AI assistant, without clicking through to any website.

GEO vs SEO

SEO supports discovery in search results. GEO also examines visibility and representation in AI-generated answers. The practices overlap in useful content, technical accessibility and clear, consistent information.

llms.txt

An experimental convention for describing website content to AI tools. Support varies; it is optional and does not ensure crawling, citations or visibility. It does not replace crawl access, sitemaps or clear content.
